Is it just me or has the price for kicking the tires gone through the roof?
It use to be that you could squeeze a few extra bucks out of the piggy bank and bite the bullet on that new internet marketing product or service that you really wanted to try. Maybe it’s in an area where you have a weakness or maybe it’s an area where you are already kicking butt and you just want to make sure you aren’t missing anything … either way, with today’s sticker prices, my guess is there will be a lot fewer tire kickers than in previous years.
What am I talking about?? .. well let’s start of the launch event of the year (so far), StomperNet … only $26 … $26 a day (clever boys)… now I’m not saying that’s too much, it’s probably a bargain knowing the time and energy Brad and Andy put into their work, not to mention the depth of expertise they have between them … I’m sure it’s a top quality product/program and probably worth every penny, but that’s a WHOLE LOTTA pennies … 956,400 pennies to be exact ($9564/yr).
And one of my favorite marketers, Perry Marshall is also launching a program called Renaissance Club Roundtable. Perry is truly one of the most creative and genuine people I have ever met, his marketing is subtle and he continually hits home runs with is strategies and marketing techniques. So when I was invited to receive an information pack outlining his Renaissance Club Roundtable, I literally watched the mail each day waiting for my packet to arrive … when it arrived (shipped FedEx no less .. Perry is always first class) I immediately turned to the last page to see if this was something I could afford … Cost for the program $11,880/year. Ouch. I want to stress again, I’m not insinuating that these fees are too high or out of line, all I’m saying is that we’ve reached an era where I can no longer afford to work directly with the ‘greats’ in the online marketing industry. Sure I can purchase lower end packages and work with the people that Perry trained, or maybe they were trained by the people that Perry trained, but if I want Perry, then the price of admission is the equivalent of a mortgage payment.
Another industry giant, Rich Schefren launched his Internet Wealth Alliance program just today … Sticker price $8995 …. Here again, I am sure it is worth every penny … and with the bonues and other perks included, some might even tell you they’re under priced.
Here’s the thing … I would venture a guess that 90% (probably closer to 95%) of all the internet marketers that these programs could profoundly help can not afford these programs … The marketers that can afford them probably don’t need them … but then again, they’ll purchase them anyway, mainly because they can (if they’re making the tens of thousands a month they say they’re making then this is just a drop in the bucket for them).
Also, by signing up with these programs, this second wave of internet success stories can begin to distance themselves from the 3rd and 4th waves making it more difficult than ever before for the ‘wannabes’ to leap the canyon between them and their mentors.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not bitter (I know I sound like I am, but I’m really not). Actually, when you think about it, if we compare high-end programs like these to other programs selling for $197 or $297 (it’s got to end in a 7 doesn’t it ), then it looks like the game has changed … but what if you compare these programs to college degrees?? … then all of a sudden they don’t look so bad … as a matter of fact, they look pretty dog-gone-good! … I’d even go so far as to say that some of these programs will provide a foundation of knowledge that will most likely translate into a more rewarding and profitable career than a degree in English Literature.
Compare that four year degree of around $60,000 (give or take $20k) to a annual fee of between $8k and $11k, then one could argue that you’re getting a tremendous bargain…. that is if you DO something with what you learn … that is still the deciding factor in all of this … value is in the eye of the beholder ….. whether it costs $197 or $9007, if you let it sit in your head, then you might as well flushed your pennies down the porcelain throne, however, if the mentoring and one-on-one feedback occur in these high-end programs like they say it will, and the buyers of these programs use what they are learning from these established experts, then yea, these guys are in the cat-bird seat … yea, I’m jealous, I’d like to say that I could plunk down that kind of coin for these programs but alas, I am one of those 95% that’s still working on my first million.
All-in-all, I applaud these innovators and industry gurus for stepping up their game … these are the guys that wrote the book on much of what internet marketers are doing today so why not develop a premier program to highlight their ’stuff’ … good for them … in the meantime I need for more of you folks to read my blog, click my links, and send me money so I can, one day, purchase these programs myself.
Until then, does anyone have a great program for $197?

Looking for new subscribers for your newsletter, blog or eZine … for free?
Co-registration is a method/strategy where your newsletter is advertised on a page with about a half-dozen other newsletters– usually.
This approach is different because you’re not paying for the listing- you’re bartering for it.
Here’s a way to get your newsletter *listed* on a ‘thank you’ page by other publishers newsletters ‘thank you’ pages by bartering - so there’s no money out of your pocket.
Basically you’re putting their newsletter offer on your newsletter ‘thank you’ pages and they are putting your newsletter offer on their newsletter ‘thank you’ pages.
You are basically growing your subscriber list at no cost and for free- if the other publisher accepts your newsletter.
I was impressed by the quality of newsletters offering to co-reg their thank you pages with you at this site.
It’s not a fast-growth strategy… but it could be an extremely significant way to grow your list at no cost. And they have newsletters in a dozen or more niches!
Check it out here and get more info,

I see Mike Litman’s newsletter listed here as well as MarketingExperiments.com with 110,000 subscribers. Looks like a solid company with solid newsletters offering to barter…
